Yeap, it's time for a number's game, and this time it's Nintendo's fiscal year sales numbers from April 1, 2008 all the way to March 31st, 2009. Straight out the press releases we got on our emails, we figured it's worth sharing for the moment.Keep in mind that the following numbers are worldwide sales.
Nintendo Wii (50.39 million in worldwide shipments)
Wii Fit - 16.37 million
Mario Kart - 15.4 million
Animal Crossing: City Folk - 3.38 million
Wii Music - 2.65 million
Nintendo DS (101.78 million in worldwide shipments)
Brain Age Series - 31.12 million
Kirby Super Star Ultra - 2.36 million
Pokemon Platinum - 3.75 million
Based on these numbers, it's clear that
(i) people are fond of a reiteration of a Pokemon game (not that it's a bad thing; Pokemon is cool),
(ii) despite critics and hardcore gamers dissing Wii Music, it sold a s***load of copies, and
(iii) Brain Age games probably cost way less to make than Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2.

Truly the "meek" has inherit the economic earth.
